From first conversation to first sale
We set up your house with you. Your website is built, your bidders and catalogue are brought across, your team rehearses a sale, and you run the first one under your own name.

Who does what
Every founding house is set up by hand. Most of the work is ours; what we need from you is what only your house knows.
1A conversation
What we doListen to how your house sells today: timed or live, the room, the telephone and absentee bids, how you invoice and how you are paid. Then we show you Auctionomy on a catalogue like yours.
What your house doesTell us about your house, your sales calendar and what you want your bidders to be able to do online.
2Your house, built with you
What we doSet up your website on your own domain, in your colours and type, drawing on your printed catalogues, your letterhead and the site you have now. We enter your terms of sale, buyer's premium, increment table and categories.
What your house doesSend what you already have: logo, photographs, terms and increments. Nothing goes public until you have approved how it looks and reads.
3Moving across
What we doBring in your bidder list and your next catalogue from wherever they live today: a spreadsheet, an export from your current system, or a printed list.
What your house doesSend us the files, and carry on running your house as usual while we do it.
4A rehearsal
What we doRun a practice sale with you, with test bidders bidding online, so your auctioneer and clerk have run the console once before it counts.
What your house doesBring whoever will take the rostrum and whoever will sit at the clerk's desk.
5Your first sale
What we doFollow the sale from our side, and stay reachable by telephone and email from the first lot to the last.
What your house doesRun it, under your own name and on your own website.
6After the hammer
What we doGo through your first invoices and settlement with you.
What your house doesSend invoices with your premium and tax. Buyers pay by bank transfer, or by card through your own Stripe account if you connect one.
What stays as it is
Auctionomy puts your house online. It does not ask you to run it differently.
Your rostrum and your clerk
The room sells as it always has. Online bidders join the same lot, on the same console.
Your terms and your premium
Your conditions of sale, buyer's premium and increments, as you set them.
Your bank
Buyers pay you directly, by bank transfer as most houses are paid today. Auctionomy never holds the money.
Your name
Your website is on your own domain. Bidders register with you, and their records stay yours.
What to have to hand
None of it needs tidying first. Send it as you keep it, and we will ask for anything missing.
- Your logo, or a printed catalogue we can take the look from
- Your conditions of sale and buyer's premium
- Your increment table
- Your bidder list, in whatever form you keep it
- Your next sale's lots, with photographs
- Access to your domain, or the person who looks after it
Questions houses ask
- Do we need anyone technical?
- No. We set up the website and bring your records across. Your team needs to be able to use a web browser; the console is learned in the rehearsal.
- Can we keep our website address?
- Yes. Your website runs on your own domain. If someone looks after your domain today, we work with them on the change.
- We only run timed sales. Is the rehearsal still useful?
- Yes. A timed rehearsal walks through publishing a sale, approving bidders, watching it close and sending the invoices.
- How long does it take?
- It depends on your calendar more than ours. We plan the work back from the sale you want to run first.
- What does it cost?
- One plan, the same price for every house, with everything included and no setup fee. Founding partners receive a discount.
